Help Support The Animals

ONSITE MEDICAL FACILITY

The Kusmit medical center here at the G.W. Exotic Animal Park was built in 2003 by John Kusmit in memory of his wife. This facility gives the Park Vets the unique opportunity to give professional care to the park animals here on site instead of the stress in hauling them to a clinic. Along with the on-call staff of very dedicated veterinarians, we have vet techs on staff 24 hours per day, 7 days per week who work under the direction of our licensed vets to continue follow up care to any sick or injured animal.

Dr. Jo Ann Green DVM of Wynnewood OK, is our primary vet which is on call 24 hours a day and covers every species of animal we have.

Dr. Kristy Kruger DVM of Enid Oklahoma is our back up Primary Vet. She takes over all responsiblities of day to day care and emergency care while Dr. Jo Ann Green is out of town or off 24 hour call. Dr. Kruger has performed as many as 4 surgery's a day here at the park on emergency rescues.

The OSU vet school led by Dr. Hoover takes care of all of our critical care animals. Animals they have saved to date with their specialized training and equipment are:

  • Lacara - the baby black leopard with 17 fractures
  • Merlin - who was rescued in a coma for 6 days
  • Dillion - the lion with brain damage
  • 2 tigers that were un-responsive upon arrival

Dr. Tom Gilmore DVM of Elmore City Oklahoma is another 24 hour emergency vet that response to the aid of any and all emergencies that may arise out of any rescue.
